How Amoxicillin + Cloxacillin works

Amoxicillin + Cloxacillin Summary

Amoxicillin and cloxacillin are penicillin antibiotics used together to treat bacterial infections. They work by stopping bacteria from forming their protective cell wall, which leads to bacterial death. Amoxicillin is effective against a broad range of bacteria, while cloxacillin is resistant to penicillinase enzymes, making it useful against certain penicillin-resistant strains, especially Staphylococcus aureus.

This combination is commonly prescribed for skin, soft tissue, respiratory, and wound infections. It is usually well tolerated but may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, or mild rashes. The medicine should be taken exactly as prescribed, and the full course must be completed to ensure complete infection clearance and to prevent antibiotic resistance.
