How BrandName works

BrandName belongs to a group of medicines called fluoroquinolone antibiotics. When bacteria infect the eye, they multiply rapidly, causing redness, pain, swelling, and discharge. BrandName works by blocking an essential enzyme inside bacteria called DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. These enzymes are needed for bacteria to copy their DNA and reproduce. Without the ability to make new DNA, the bacteria cannot grow or multiply, and eventually they die. By killing the bacteria, BrandName helps the eye infection heal faster and prevents it from spreading to other parts of the eye.
