Clindamycin Summary

Clindamycin tablet is a strong antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections of the skin, soft tissues, bones, joints, lungs, abdomen, pelvis, and blood. It works by stopping bacteria from making essential proteins, which prevents their growth and helps the body clear the infection. Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and mild skin rash. Serious reactions such as severe or persistent diarrhea, allergic reactions, or liver problems need immediate medical attention.

This medicine should not be used by people allergic to clindamycin or those with a history of severe antibiotic-related gut infections. Caution is advised in patients with liver or kidney problems.
